I just finished knitting my first ever pair of socks!
🧦I used the Very Vanilla Socks pattern from KBJ designs – so sturdy & cozy, with heels that stay in place more than any other pair of socks I’ve worn 🙂 Used the size adjustment listed on ravelry to make a smaller pair, and had to go down a size in needles as I often do because I tend to knit loosely.
🧶Yarn is Patons Kroy Socks FX (75% washable wool, 25% nylon) that had been sitting in my yarn stash for years. Only one had a label but they seemed like they would match; apparently not! Super fun multicolor stranded yarn on both though.
📝Lessons learned: 1. Checking your tension is ALWAYS worth it 2. look up what new terms (SSK) means, don’t just assume you can figure it out 😝3. Be very careful when trying on projects made with size 0 bamboo needles, especially around the instep, otherwise you’ll break one of them 😬4. All love to my mom & grandma, but I never knew hand-knit socks could be this comfy!
